Handicap
Developing a handicap is an integral part of golf. A handicap tracks your scores and measures your level of ability. By entering your scores you will be eligible for prizes at designated BCGA Membership events. Recognition is based on your achievement according to your ability, not the lowest score. A handicap is important because it allows players of different abilities to play with or against each other . After posting a minimum of five 18 hole scores you will recieve your handicap.
If you would like to track your handicap and be eligable for play in tournaments outside of Golf Fore Gals be sure to purchase the "BCGA Membership" when you join, or renew your membership. An account will be set up for you to record and view your handicap through the new RCGA online handicap software.
Having a handicap for non competitive tournaments is still a lot of fun. There are many fun formats to play when players have handicaps. It allows players of different abilities to play on equal terms. Using a handicap, it's always the player that plays to the best of their ability that wins, not the player with the best score.
When you decide on the BCGA Handicap Membership, you will be given a username and password. To edit your profile and start entering your scores you just go to - www.rcga.org, and login with the username and password you have been given. If you need assistance, either Vancouver's or Fraser Valley's Handicap & Rules Chairpersons will be pleased to assist.
Golf Fore Gals runs special events throughout the season for RCGA/BCGA Members ONLY. All these rounds of golf are played in accordance with the RCGA Rules of Golf.
